Compassion Kadampa Buddhist Center

Who we Are

Compassion Kadampa Buddhist Center was founded by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso as a non-profit organization and member of the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union in 2007. The New Kadampa Tradition is a western Buddhist tradition with no political affiliations that follows the pure Kadampa Buddhist teachings of the great Buddhist teachers Atisha (AD 982 - 1054) and Je Tsongkhapa (AD 1357 - 1419), as presented for contemporary society by modern-day Buddhist master, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (b. 1931).  Compassion Center's purpose is to introduce the Buddhist faith by offering classes on meditation and Buddhism for all levels of interest and experience, as well as to exemplify Buddhist faith and practice through public service.
